Mir Raza case: Father urges effective investigation, hopes for justice

KARACHI: The father of Mir Raza has called for a thorough investigation into his son’s death, saying the family is prepared to go to any length to ensure justice is served.

He said that, to his knowledge, none of Mir Raza’s friends used to visit the police station within whose jurisdiction the body was recovered.

The father said that 13 days after the incident, the family was now satisfied that authorities were cooperating with them. He expressed hope that the newly constituted investigation team would proceed with the case in a positive and transparent manner.

Mir Raza’s father said that if an effective investigation had been conducted during the initial days, the case would have reached a different stage by now.

Meanwhile, Mir Raza’s brother, Mir Hussain, said the family had yet to determine what exactly happened to Mir Raza.

“We are also trying to establish the facts and understand how the incident occurred,” he said.

According to Mir Hussain, Mir Raza’s kitchen was located approximately half a kilometre from the place where the body was found.

He said the family had already provided police with information regarding three suspicious individuals.

Mir Hussain further alleged that the previous investigation team had not shared details of the inquiry with the family.

He expressed hope that the newly formed investigation team would conduct a comprehensive probe and bring the case to its logical conclusion.
