KARACHI: Significant new developments have emerged in the case of young businessman Mir Raza, with evidence reportedly indicating the presence of acid in his stomach, according to sources.

Sources said Mir Raza’s lungs had been severely affected by acid. Traces of acid and what were described as another person’s sweat were also reportedly found on his shirt, while signs consistent with acid exposure were found on his hands and feet.

Police have sealed a guesthouse located near the reported crime scene, according to sources.

The premises were closed after being deemed suspicious and have been placed under investigation.

Six people working at the guesthouse have been taken into custody, sources said. The total number of people detained in connection with the case has now reached 21.

Those detained include Mir Raza’s friends and business partners, according to sources. Their statements have also been recorded as part of the investigation.

However, Mir Raza’s parents have reportedly declined the proposed judicial commission.
