Police officer martyred, one suspect killed in an encounter at SITE area

A police officer was martyred during an encounter with suspects in SITE Area, Karachi.
According to Amjad Sheikh, SSP Keamari, the incident occurred on Saturday near the Bawani check post when police on routine patrol stopped a suspicious group of men. The suspects opened fire on the officers, initiating the deadly encounter.
One police officers, Wajid, got critically injured and later embraced martyrdom, succumbing to the injuries.
According to the police, one of the suspects has also been killed in the encounter, while a civilian was injured during the crossfire between police and the suspects.
The injured civilian was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
SSP Amjad Sheikh claimed that, Wajid, the martyred officer was posted at SITE Police Station and had come from Mansehra. He was married and had been serving in the police force for several years. Police also recovered weapons from the killed suspect.
An investigation is underway to determine the identity of the attackers and any possible links to criminal networks operating in the area.
