Shanzeh’s mehndi attire from Sabyasachi; an Indian designer sparks outrage

Shanzeh Ali Rohale and Junaid Safdar’s mehndi took place last night at ‘Jaati Umra’ residence, near Raiwand, Lahore. 

Shanzeh’s attire sparked heated debate on social media.The dress was from an Indian designer. In social media posts and pictures, Shanzeh is seen wearing a traditional Indian designer outfit by Sabyasachi on the mehndi celebration, while the groom, Junaid Safdar was dressed in an attire by a Pakistani designer HSY.

Shanzeh’s choice of designer, however, drew criticism because of her close ties to Pakistan’s political elite.

It is worth noting that Shanzeh Rohail, is the granddaughter of senior PMLN leader and former Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Rohail Asghar.However,the family is considered to be the first family of Pakistan.

Critics on social media argued that she should have been extremely careful in choosing a designer, given the ongoing political sensitivities between Pakistan and India.
