A knife-wielding man attacked two Jewish pedestrians in London, the British capital, and has since been arrested.
According to a British news agency, police said the attacker first struck an elderly man in the neck and then targeted another individual.
The 40-year-old suspect also attempted to assault police officers prior to his arrest. He has been taken into custody, but his identity has not yet been disclosed.
In the attack, the elderly victim sustained deep wounds to the neck, while a middle-aged man was stabbed in the abdomen. One of the injured is over 70 years old, while the other is around 30.
One of the victims experienced breathing difficulties. Both individuals received medical assistance at the scene before being transferred to hospital, where the elderly man is reported to be in critical condition.
Police have not yet revealed the identity of the suspect, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as deeply distressing, stating that an attack on the Jewish community is an attack on the whole of Britain.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan also said there should be no place for antisemitism in society.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials urged the British government to take concrete action against antisemitic incidents rather than limiting its response to statements.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog described the incident as an unacceptable situation.
