Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia has announced its decision to pursue legal action against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over alleged misconduct involving Gaza flotilla activists.
According to reports, the Malaysian government is preparing to file a case after collecting evidence and relevant documentation related to the incident. The move was first reported by international media, including Al Jazeera.
Malaysian officials stated that the legal process will commence once all necessary materials have been compiled, adding that detailed documentation of alleged violations of international law is currently being prepared.
An official, Amiruddin Shari, said flotilla participants were allegedly subjected to detention and mistreatment, claims which Kuala Lumpur intends to present before the ICJ.
He further stated that Malaysia will not remain silent on the matter and will also continue diplomatic pressure and international advocacy alongside legal proceedings.
