A new poll released on Sunday found that a large majority of Israelis believe Iran emerged stronger from the recent Middle East conflict and its follow-up agreement with the United States.

The survey, conducted by Hebrew University of Jerusalem in collaboration with the Agam Institute, gathered responses from 3,644 people between June 17 and 20.

According to the poll, 92.1 per cent of respondents said Iran had either won or benefited more from the conflict, while 82.9pc believed Israel’s long-term security had been weakened.

The findings also showed similar views among supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with 93.1pc of right-wing bloc voters saying Iran had gained more.

The poll found broad opposition to the US-Iran agreement, with 63.2pc of respondents against the deal and only 12.1pc supporting it.

It also reflected growing dissatisfaction with Netanyahu’s leadership. Nearly 72.5pc said they did not trust his claims about the military campaign’s success, while 56.4pc rated his handling of the conflict as poor or a failure.

Support for Netanyahu as prime minister also dropped sharply, falling from 40.5pc in March to 29.4pc in June, according to the survey.
