People are putting up posters across NYC to protest against Jeff Bezos ahead of the upcoming Met Gala. The protestors want others to boycott the event because Jeff Bezos is involved.

The campaign emerged across subway stations, bus stops and city streets, criticising Bezos and his wife. Both of them are serving as lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs of this year’s Met gala.

The Met Gala is one of the fashion industry’s biggest fundraising events and attracts celebrities from entertainment, sports, politics and business.

The protest posters claim that Amazon, the company owned by Jeff Bezos treats its workers very poorly. One poster shows a bottle of urine on a carpet. This is because some Amazon delivery drivers said they had to urinate in bottles because they did not have time to stop and use a bathroom.

Another poster shows Jeff Bezos wearing a uniform from the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement because of Amazon Web Services’ contracts with immigration enforcement agencies.

A group from Britain called ‘Everyone Hates Elon’ has organized this protest. They do not just go after Elon Musk; they also call out other influential people and big companies. they raised more than £14,000 through mostly public donations to pay for these posters in New York.

The Met Gala has frequently faced criticism; people do not like how much money is spent on it. They think it is not fair. There have been protests linked to economic inequality, climate concerns and the war in Gaza.
