Pakistani mountaineer Sajid Ali Sadpara has successfully climbed Mount Makalu, the world’s fifth-highest peak, adding another major achievement to his high-altitude climbing career.

According to details, Sajid reached the summit at around 5am on Saturday. Located in Nepal, Mount Makalu rises to 8,485 metres above sea level and is known for its technical difficulty.

With this climb, Sajid has now summited 10 peaks above 8,000 metres, further cementing his position among Pakistan’s leading mountaineers.

Makalu lies in the Mahalangur Himalayas, about 19 kilometres southeast of Mount Everest, along the China-Nepal border. The mountain is widely regarded as one of the most challenging in the world due to its steep ridges, harsh terrain and extreme weather conditions.

The Alpine Club of Pakistan congratulated Sajid on his achievement. In a statement, its president Irfan Arshad, along with other members, praised the climber and described the feat as a moment of pride for the country.

The club said that successfully summiting such a technically demanding peak reflects Sajid’s courage, determination and high level of skill in mountaineering.
