Schools to remain closed till 24 August in Punjab

LAHORE: On Saturday, Punjab Minister for School and Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat cautioned both public and private schools not to open prior to August 24, directing administrations to follow the schedule announced by the government during the summer vacations.

As per Rana Sikandar Hayat, all educational institutes must remain closed till August 24. He warned the administrations not to hold any regular classes in schools before August 24, which is an officially announced date.

Rana Sikandar Hayat said no public or private school shall be allowed to begin regular classes prior to August 24 and requested the schools' administrations to follow the directives of the government and let the students enjoy the whole vacation time.

Punjab Minister for School and Higher Education said that the Punjab government has kept a full month of the summer holidays to conduct “Remedial Learning Camps” of students.

He said that these camps were organized to develop the academic capabilities of the students by providing remedial support to them before the beginning of the next academic session.

Rana Sikandar Hayat instructed school administrators to give full cooperation to the government policies and said that no school shall be allowed to open before August 24.

The government has also asked parents and students to take notice of the officially announced schedule by the Punjab government regarding opening of educational institutions.
