Karachi court grants bail to SSP’s son arrested in DHA snap-check altercation with police

Khubaib, whose father is a high-ranking police officer, was released on bail by a judicial magistrate on Saturday when he appeared in a case lodged against him following an altercation with some policemen in Karachi's Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

The hearing was held in the court of the judicial magistrate (South), in which the accused appeared along with his advocates, including Usama Ali Gujar, Faisal Sheikh, and Waheed Sheikh.

During the hearing, the advocate for the accused stated that the whole case was based on a concocted and fabricated story, claiming that there was no truth in it whatsoever and that it was just a misunderstanding.

According to him, the accused had not resisted the police officers and willingly accompanied his parents to the police station. 

Furthermore, he added that one of the police officials had made a mistake, which was sorted out through discussions, and asked the judge why the case was registered nine hours after the incident.

He also highlighted that all charges included in the case were bailable, and the accused was willing to assist in the investigation.
