KARACHI: The investigation into the murder of young businessman Mir Raza is continuing, with the probe team examining the case from multiple angles, according to investigative sources.
Sources said geo-fencing of the area where Mir Raza’s body was found has been carried out. The crime scene is located near a hilly area, with towers belonging to three mobile phone companies installed in the vicinity.
According to sources, geo-fencing has identified locations across different blocks of Gulistan-e-Johar. Investigators are facing challenges in obtaining accurate data due to the passage of several days since the incident.
Investigators have also collected various pieces of evidence from around the crime scene and conducted a search within a 500-metre radius of the area, sources said.
The newly formed investigation committee has also obtained details from Mir Raza’s smartwatch and is attempting to retrieve its complete data, according to investigative sources.
Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho said Mir Raza’s family had demanded action against the previous investigation team.
“We will take whatever action is required under the law,” the IGP said, adding that an investigation was also underway into the role of the medico-legal officer (MLO) in the case.
