Israeli PM Netanyahu has accepted the invitation from President Trump to join the “Board of Peace,” aimed at resolving conflicts and overseeing the post-war reconstruction of Gaza.
It is a platform of world leaders working to promote stability, governance and peace in areas affected by war. The invitation to join this initiative have been extended to several countries.
Netanyahu’s decision came after much hesitation over the presence of figures from rival countries. So far, countries including the UAE, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Argentina, Belarus and Vietnam have also joined the board.
The agreement of the Board of Peace is not yet publicly released and reportedly allows for expanded roles beyond Gaza. Meanwhile supporters say the initiative could accelerate reconstruction and peace in Gaza, critics warn it risks centralizing power under Trump’s leadership and broadening its scope far beyond its original agenda of peace and rebuilding war-torn Gaza.
