Following the fire incident at Gul Plaza, officials of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) have declared the adjacent Rimpa Plaza unsafe.
SBCA has issued notices to the management of Rimpa Plaza and shop owners.
According to SBCA officials, the structural pillars of Rimpa Plaza have been severely affected due to debris that fell after the Gul Plaza collapsed.
SBCA has imposed an immediate and complete ban on the use of the damaged and dangerous sections of Rimpa Plaza.
Unsafe elements must be removed immediately from the affected structure and repair work must be carried out, SBCA officials said.
All repair and strengthening work must be conducted strictly under the supervision of a certified structural engineer, according to SBCA.
The building will not be allowed to be used until the competent authority declares it safe, SBCA officials stated.Legal action will be taken in case of violation of these orders, SBCA officials warned.
"Strict action will be taken if any activity continues in Rimpa Plaza without permission," SBCA officials added.
