According to the details, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) stopped Imran from boarding the flight due to his name on the Exit Control List (ECL) and Passport Control List (PCL).

On May 29, the journalist informed his fan that his name was removed from the no-fly list on the orders of the Islamabad High Court and he would go to perform Hajj.

Imran Riaz has been facing several cases following the May 9 riots, in which several military and civil installations were vandalised by PTI supporters after the arrest of Imran Khan in a corruption case.

The journalist was arrested on May 11 from the Sialkot Airport under 3MPO.

After remaining missing for almost five months, he was recovered on September 25, 2023.
