The Pakistan Rangers Sindh claimed on Wednesday to have arrested four suspected extortionists during an operation in New Karachi area.

According to a press release, the arrested suspects were identified as Abdul Qadir Bugti, Mashooq Ali, Ghulam Hussain, and Abdul Hakeem. Rangers said that the suspects were involved in extortion activities.

During the operation, Rangers recovered a 12-bore weapon with ammunition, a 9mm pistol along with ammunition, a Corolla car, a motorcycle, three mobile phones and cash from the suspects.

According to the Rangers, a complaint was received on January 20, 2026, through the Rangers Helpline 1101 from the owner of a private garments factory. The complainant alleged that four armed men had forcibly entered the factory and demanded Rs1.5 million in extortion money at gunpoint.

Acting swiftly on the information, the Pakistan Rangers, Sindh reached the spot, surrounded the factory and arrested all four armed suspects red-handed. Rangers said the suspects were involved in multiple extortion cases.

Raids are being carried out to arrest the accomplices of the suspects.

The arrested men, along with the recovered weapons, ammunition and seized items, have been handed over to the police for further legal proceedings.

The Rangers have urged the public to report any suspicious or criminal activity to their nearest Rangers check post, through the Rangers Helpline 1101, or via the Rangers Madadgar WhatsApp number 0347-9001111. The spokesperson assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
