A family's heartbreaking loss|medical negligence claims poor father's life

A resident of Federal B Area, **Faqeer ur Rehman**, the father of five daughters, reportedly lost his life after allegedly being administered an incorrect injection at a local clinic.

According to his niece, Neelam, the incident occurred on Monday when Faqeer ur Rehman visited the clinic for treatment. She claimed that a ward attendant administered an injection in his right hand, after which the hand immediately began to swell. When the family raised concerns, the doctor allegedly advised them to apply ice, assuring them that the swelling would subside.

Faqeer ur Rehman's wife said that he had been suffering from a fever and had asked her for money to seek medical treatment.

Since he was unwell, he did not go to work that day. She said he visited the clinic alone despite being afraid of injections. According to her, the doctor prescribed medication and administered two injections before sending him home.

She further stated that throughout the night, he complained of severe pain in his shoulders while his condition continued to deteriorate. The family then took him to another hospital, followed by Memon Hospital, where they were advised to shift him to a different medical facility.

According to the family, several hospitals allegedly refused to admit him because swelling had spread across his body. He was eventually admitted to **Jinnah Hospital** for treatment.

His wife recalled that during their final conversation, Faqeer ur Rehman asked her to make sure their daughters had dinner. His daughter, Arisha, also said she spoke to her father, who lovingly asked if she was doing well.

Neelam said she documented his worsening condition by recording videos throughout his treatment. She alleged that there were delays in medical procedures at Jinnah Hospital. She further claimed that blood was visible in his urine collection bag and that doctors later informed the family that his hand would need to be amputated because the infection or toxic effect had spread. According to Neelam, the doctors later said the condition had progressed to his neck, and shortly afterward, Faqeer ur Rehman passed away.
