A man was shot dead while another was injured after a dispute escalated into firing outside a café in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Johar area on Thursday night, police said.

According to initial information, the incident took place near a café in Block 3, close to Continental Bakery, where a verbal altercation reportedly turned violent. Gunfire was opened during the clash, leaving one person critically injured.

Police officials later identified the deceased as 22-year-old Najeeb Ali, son of Niaz Ali. His body was shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Authorities said the incident appeared to be the result of a personal dispute, though further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances and identify those involved.
