The Islamabad District and Sessions Court has ordered the recovery of Ayesha Musarrat, wife of anchor Jameel Farooqui, who has accused her husband of unlawful confinement and abuse.

Acting on orders issued by Additional Sessions Judge Irfan Akram, the woman was recovered from the jurisdiction of Golra Police Station in Islamabad and presented before the court.

The recovery followed a petition filed by her parents a day earlier.

In her statement before the court, Ayesha Musarrat said she had been living with her husband for the past two months and was not allowed to meet her parents.

She further alleged that she had been subjected to repeated physical abuse.

She told the court that she is an adult, capable of making her own decisions, and wished to return to her parents.

The court, taking her statement into account, ruled that she is free to go wherever she chooses and permitted her to leave with her parents, subsequently disposing of the petition related to unlawful confinement.
